RV Seachange had its beginnings with members of the CMCA Solos wishing for a web site and forum to help them communicate. Easier said than done.
Over the years several attempts came to nothing and then just two months ago the lovely Verna started an email ‘tree’ which sort-of worked, and from the responses it was clear that those on the mailing list wanted to ‘talk’ to one another much more than had happened in the past.
One of the recipients decided to do something about it and RV Seachange was the result. It was an instant success with solo travellers, but much less so with the hierarchy of the CMCA, who if we played by their rules basically would have insisted on running the show.
That’s not how we want to operate and so decided RV Seachange should not be part of the CMCA.
Instead it should welcome ALL soloists — including those who travel in motorhomes, campervans, fifth-wheelers, caravans, slide-ons, pop-top trailers, etc … we want to be inclusive. After all, solo travellers are basically independent souls who do not want to be labelled according to their mode of travel.
So spread the word … and welcome to all.

I tthink its a good idea to keep in contact without the big brother overseeing us and the free independant spirits like “wheel estate” should be able to chat here along with the mainsteam solos.
i see this as being a site to get together, to go travelling to places, as well as keeping in contact with issues affecting us like the closure of forbes rest area
And i am sure we dont need policing to do that effectively, we have an admin to keep the site in line and polite, etc, etc.
Great idea to have a blog!
Will be a good source of knowing where solos are to travel with in the near future. I would like to ‘do ‘ Tassie later this year and will be looking for companions to travel with!
As a new member i am stumbling my way through the system finding my way…
